Last night after Pushing Daisies ("Nun...on the run. Nun on the run!"), leorathesane went into her studio to do some homework, and I went into the kitchen to give the inside of our oven a much-needed cleaning.

( This is not a story about oven cleaning. )

The last few days of our trip are quicker to recount.

Day 6: A day of resting, reading, and doing not much of anything.

Day 7: Dad went back to work. Mom, leorathesane, and I went to visit Grandma and Frank. Mom had the foresight to upload some pictures onto the laptop to show them. Nothing kills half an hour like a vacation slideshow.

By the by, it happens that Monday was the date leorathesane and I had arbitrarily designated as "Mister Brown's birthday." So, by our calculations, our darling punkinhead is now one year old.

Last night, while laying out my clothes for today, I opened my bottom dresser drawer, and Mister Brown jumped in. No big deal; he does it all the time. Leora and I took Mister Brown outside Saturday. He didn't fight the harness, and other than the couple of times he got tangled up in it, he barely noticed the leash at all. Since I get up before leorathesane, early mornings are my special time with Mister Brown. Of course, 6-month-old kittens being 6-month-old kittens, "special time" works mostly like this:
